WHAT INSECTS DOES THE TREATMENT REPEL

HOW DOES IT WORK
Insect Shield technology converts clothing into long-lasting, effective and convenient insect protection. Insect Shield uses a ratio of .52% permethrin, which is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring repellent found in certain types of chrysanthemums. The natural insecticide properties of chrysanthemums have been known for decades.
Permethrin affects the nervous system in insects when they come in contact. The active ingredient in Insect Shield is so tightly bonded to the fabric fibres that it retains effective repellency through the life of the product.

Insect Shield’s permethrin-treated clothing received the first-ever EPA safety rating of Category IV, which is considered “most favorable” or the highest safety level awarded. To receive its EPA registration, Insect Shield’s permethrin technology was extensively tested, confirming no adverse effects on people, animals, or the environment. The APVMA here in Australia has also approved Insect Shield treated gear. This means that there are no restrictions and the entire family can use insect Shield’s permethrin-treated clothing.
Additionally, the Hohenstein Institute, an accredited test laboratory and research institute, have performed extensive allergy and skin sensitivity tests. Insect Shield was awarded both “Hypoallergenic” and “No Allergy Potential” labels.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE TREATMENT

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT LAST
Our clothing has been tested to be effective up to 70 standard washes, and our gear up to 25 standard washes, considered the lifespan of the product. So go ahead and jump in that muddy puddle!
DOES THE TREAMENT HAVE AN ODOR
No, the treatment is completely odourless!

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY GARMENTS
- Normal home laundering is recommended.
- Do not dry clean.
- No special care or storage required, but we recommend line drying in the shade.
- Stubborn stain? We recommend the paste method, using your go-to stain remover.
